• Tasked to address a legacy product which had field data showing a high level of repairs and replacements.

• Full root cause analysis on all recorded issues.

• Evaluated full assembly to address misalignment, interferences, and design issues.

• Optimized plastic injection molded components and tooling design to produce stronger and cheaper component.

• FEA and mold flow analysis performed to support finding before tooling release.

• Working with suppliers and cross functional teams globally to coordinate tooling changes and release of new sets of matching tooling for regional support.

• Resulting in:

  • Improved strength, durability, & aesthetics

  • Cost reduction in components due to optimization

  • Cost reduction due to reduction of repairs/replacements
